Meet Keyz

Hi, Budz!

My name is Keyz aka The Wellness Doula. I am a Chicago native currently living in Sacramento, Ca. I first found my passion for maternal and infant health while studying Public Health at The Ohio State University. After moving to California, I wanted to expand my knowledge from prevention and education to intervention. As a recent graduate from San Francisco State University school of nursing with a minor in women’s health, I bring an interesting perspective of clinical practice to doula support. I offer clients access to information, tools, and resources that will help them sustain wellness over their lifetime. Moreover, as a certified doula and Cannabis consultant I aim to educate, normalize, and advocate for the use of therapeutic Cannabis in women’s health, particularly in aspects of mental health, fertility, and birth. My goals include healing communities of color that were harmed by the war on drugs by reducing barriers to accessing Cannabis, and improving birth outcomes for Black birthing-people by restoring the cultural and medicinal connection between Cannabis and womb health for all members of the African diaspora. In short, I’m a badass, Black, Queer, Intersectional Feminist working to dismantle the medical patriarchy and restore Black bodily autonomy through holistic and comprehensive birthwork…I’m also into Cannabis.

Meet Aicha traore

Hi, my name is Aicha!

I’m a Birth Doula, Pre-natal Health Educator, Hormone Health Coach and a Pre -Natal Yoga Instructor. I’m so glad to be a part of the Maternal and Child Health Field and am able to make a difference. Since I was really young, I’ve always knew I wanted to work with newborns and help deliver babies. As I got older, I realized that doctoring wasn’t the only way for me to still help bring new life into this world. The thought of pregnancy and what it represents is just so beautiful to me. Being a doula gives me a chance to help Mothers have a great birthing experience. My role as a Doula is to be there for the mother mentally, physically and emotionally. My goal is to help change our healthcare system with the way giving birth has become and improve Women’s Health.

Meet Jemilla White

Hi Synergies!

I’m Jemilla Renee, a Certified Birth Doula, Certified Postpartum Doula, Owner of MariMama Doula Services, Director, Doula Programming & Affairs, and Co-creator of the BIRRTH WOMXN OC community-based doula program in Orange County.  I am a Holistic Synergist who strives to help expectant parents optimize their childbearing experiences. I’ve spent the majority of my life mentoring, teaching and guiding others to embrace the higher version of themselves. In the midst of pursuing a higher education, my mother passed away at the beginning of my junior year. After experiencing a significant loss at such a young age; I began to become a student of alternative life practices, more specifically, the incorporation of Cannabis. After receiving my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the Indiana Institute of Technology, I decided to seek out ways to implement what I learned in efforts to better reach and innerstand the community in which I serve. It is truly a blessing to be able to utilize my background to integrate methods of Holistic Psychology. My inclusive approach helps expectant parents learn to adapt a Holistic mindset. MariMama’s most noteworthy slogan, “What the mind decides, the body is sure to follow,” captures the essence of embracing the human mind and body for the expectant birthing person. I am extremely grateful to have attended over 20 natural & unmedicated births and to have assisted over 25 birthing families with exclusively body feeding for over 1 year.

Meet Ajahana Hall

Hi, My name is Ajahana Hall,

I believe God gave us the tools within ourselves and within herbal medicine to heal our mind, body and soul. I have studied herbal medicine and mindful meditation for a few years now and I have seen the positive affects it has had on my life. I no longer experience long periods of
depression, stress or anxiety. I know now that I have my faith and my practice to thank for that. It was because of this experience that lead me to start my own herbal tea business in June of 2022 called Mindfullteas, a premium and organic herbal tea business that helps aid in mental and emotional health. In the fall of 2023, I received my mindful teacher certification from MNDFL. My hope is to help others experience their own mental and emotional breakthroughs. I plan to do this by bringing Mindfullteas and mindful meditation to people around the world as they embark on their mental and emotional healing journey.

Stockton born and raised, Jessica is an active member of the theatre community and hopes to present art that represents her people, her culture, and her community.

Meet Laura Press

Laura began her journey as a body and energy worker while practicing as a doula and providing nurturing and educational support to growing families. While traveling and learning the importance of human experience within communities, a fascination with the wonders of what a body can achieve, and being unsettled by our disparities in maternity care, Laura continued her education in traditional healing and herbal medicine. Making her way down to the Yucatan, she was taught Mayan medicine and womb massage from traditional midwives and healers. Within this rich culture, the womb space is revered as sacred and considered the core of our existence.

After practicing numerous massage modalities, Laura believes that her clients know their body best, and in an integrative approach to healing includes the use of and hands-on compassion, energetic release, and specializes in preconception to postpartum bodywork, blending massage techniques from Eastern and Western teachings. Laura‘s passion lies in women’s reproductive health, menstrual awareness, ethnobotanical studies, and strives to achieve personalized goals set by her clients.
